A clever artistic metaphor and three coded messages at Burderop Down on July 20, 2016 

Is our crop-artist friend considering a “target date” for landing on Earth?  

Its first message: a coded date for “two astrological squares” in Earth’s night sky, possibly on August 6, 2016 

Venus will “square” Mars, while Mercury will “square” Saturn, on August 6, 2016 (Roman numbers “VI” suggest “6”)  

The large letter “V” could also stand for “Venus”. A “bullet shot” nearby lies where our Sun will be located in Earth’s sky, close to Venus on August 6. 

If we flip the crop picture to create a mirror image, then we see a second coded message as “ETA” for “Estimated Time of Arrival” 

A second alternative reading of these three letters might be “I” am an “ET”.  

A third coded message shows a “serpent” flying among the “stars”, with two letters “DH” written along the length of its body 

These two letters “DH” might mean either “Distant Heavens” (in a Ptolemaic solar system) or “Decision Height” (in the aviation industry).  

An alternative reading of this code might be that “I” am a metaphorical “serpent”.  

The Burderop Down crop picture was drawn within the “mind” of a landscape “bird”, which is flying toward the “rings” of Barbury Castle nearby. Will this “bird” decide to land?  

Two capital letters “DH”, followed by three “stars” and a “bar”, might also mean that our crop-artist friend is a “Designated Hitter”, who is being brought in for an “All-Star game” soon on planet Earth! In other words, this could be a humorous metaphor based on the slang of American baseball (see Designated_hitter).  

The letter “H”, followed by two large dots (“I” in Morse code), followed by a horizontal bar (“T” in Morse code), spells “H-I-T”. Thus the complete third motif of this crop picture may be read as “D H-I-T”.
