The “Rippling Celtic Cross” near West Woods (July
17th). This formation is remarkable -- truly unique
-- for its lovely re-curving arms, which spring from
the centre of a classic quintuplet set.
I shot this very late in the season when almost
everything else had been cut down, so although no
longer fresh, the grass growing in it made for a
lovely effect and good contrast with the standing
crop. (But I had a LOT of walk lines to remove!)
