Reconstruction of the
2024 Wilton Windmill formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct two inscribed squares of circle 1, one pointing up, one with horizontal and vertical sides.

3. Draw the connecting line from the center of circle 1 to the upper righthand intersection of squares 2, and extend this line upto circle 1.

4. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circle 1 and line 3, tangent to the upper horizontal side of squares 2.

5. Copy circle 4 three times, to the upper, the lefthand, and the lower, angular points of squares 2.

6. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of line 3 and the upper horizontal side of squares 2, tangent to circle 1 at the near side.

7. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 6 at the lower side.

8. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 7 and the vertical centerline, tangent to the upper lefthand side of squares 2.

9. Copy circle 8 to the center of circle 1.

10. Construct a circle concentric to circle 6, tangent to upper circle 5 at the near side.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 10 at the far side.

12. Construct the "two-points circle" (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the upper intersection of circle 11, and the intersection of upper circle 5, both with the vertical centerline.

13. Copy circle 12 to the lefthand angular point of squares 2.

14. Draw the connecting line between the upper intersection of circles 1 and 13 and the righthand angular point of squares 2. See detail. Extend this line to the right sufficiently (with about its own length).

15. Copy circle 4 to the upper intersection of circle 11 and the vertical centerline.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 15 at the upper side.

17. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of the righthand vertical side of squares 2 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 7 at the righthand side.

18. Copy circle 17 to the intersection of line 14 and circle 16.

19. Construct a circle centered at the righthand angular point of squares 2, tangent to circle 9 at the righthand side.

20. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 19 at the righthand side.

21. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circle 13 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to the righthand circle 5 at the lefthand side.

22. Copy circle 21 to the intersection of line 14 and circle 20.

23. Copy circle 7 to the center of circle 22.

24. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 23 at the righthand side.

25. Construct a circle concentric to circle 17, tangent to the upper righthand side of squares 2.

26. Copy circle 25 to the intersection of line 14 and circle 24.

27. Copy circle 21 to the center of circle 26.

28. Copy circle 12 to the righthand intersection of line 14 and circle 27.

29. Copy circle 17 to the righthand intersection of line 14 and circle 28.

30. Copy circle 17 to the righthand intersection of line 14 and circle 29.

31. Circles 1, 5, 7, 9, 11, 18, 22, 26, 28, and 30, are used for the final reconstruction.

32. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

33. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

34. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2024 Wilton Windmill formation.
