Reconstruction of the
2022 Little Down formation | ||

| Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines. |
| 2. |
| Construct the circumscribed octagon (regular 8-sided polygon) of circle 1, with horizontal and vertical sides. |
| 3. |
| Draw the connecting line between the center of circle 1 and the righthand angular point of octagon 2 above the horizontal centerline. |
| 4. |
| Construct the inscribed octagon of circle 1, with the sides parallel to the sides of octagon 2. |
| 5. |
| Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the center of circle 1 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline. |
| 6. |
| Copy circle 5 to the center of circle 1. |
| 7. |
| Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 5 and line 3, passing through the nearest angular point of octagon 2. |
| 8. |
| Copy circle 7 four times, to the intersections of circle 6 and the horizontal and vertical centerlines. |
| 9. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, tangent to the nearest sides of octagon 4. |
| 10. |
| Copy circle 9 to the center of circle 1. |
| 11. |
| Copy circle 7 to the righthand intersection of circle 10 and the horizontal centerline. |
| 12. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 11 at the righthand side. |
| 13. |
| Copy circle 12 to the center of the righthand circle 8. |
| 14. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 13 at the righthand side. |
| 15. |
| Draw the connecting line between the righthand intersection of circle 14 with the horizontal centerline and its intersection with line 3, and extend this line upto the corresponding side of octagon 4. |
| 16. |
| Draw the connecting line between the center of circle 1 and its upper righthand intersection (tangent point) with octagon 2. |
| 17. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersection of lines 15 and 16. |
| 18. |
| Construct the inscribed regular 16-sided polygon of circle 17, pointing to the right. |
| 19. |
| Draw the sixteen rays of polygon 18, from its center to the angular points. |
| 20. |
| Repeat the construction of line 15 fifteen times, with respect to the other angular points of polygon 18, as shown. |
| 21. |
| Draw a vertical line from the center of the righthand circle 8 upto its upper side. |
| 22. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersection of the righthand circle 8 and line 21. |
| 23. |
| Construct the inscribed octagon of circle 22, with angular points coincident with rays 19, as shown. |
| 24. |
| Construct the inscribed circle of octagon 23. |
| 25. |
| Draw the connecting line between the center of circle 6 and its upper intersection with the righthand circle 8. |
| 26. |
| Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circle 10 and line 25, tangent to the horizontal centerline. |
| 27. |
| Octagon 4, circles 8, 12, 22, 24, and 26, and lines 15, 19, and 20, are used for the final reconstruction. |
| 28. |
| Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself. |
| 29. |
| Colour all areas corresponding to standing... |
| 30. |
| ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2022 Little Down formation. |
| 31. |
| The final result, matched with two aerial images. |
