Reconstruction of the
2021 Barton Stacey Belt formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 two times, to its righthand intersection with the horizontal, and its upper intersection with the vertical centerline.

3. Draw the connecting line between the two intersections of circles 2.

4. Construct the inscribed dodecagon (regular 12-sided polygon) of circle 1, with one angular point on line 3.

5. Construct the inscribed circle of dodecagon 4.

6. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 5, pointing up.

7. Construct the inscribed square of circle 5, pointing up.

8. Construct the inscribed square of circle 5, with one angular point coincident with the lower righthand angular point of triangle 6.

9. Construct the inscribed square of circle 5, with one angular point coincident with the lower lefthand angular point of triangle 6.

10. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 6.

11. Construct a circle, tangent to both righthand sides of square 7 at the inner sides, and tangent to the righthand sides of squares 8 and 9 at the outer sides, as shown.

12. Copy circle 11 to the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.

13. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 12 at the lower side.

14. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 13, pointing up.

15. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 14.

16. Copy circle 11 to the center of circle 1.

17. Copy circle 11 four times, to the intersections of circle 15 with the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

18. Construct a circle, tangent to the righthand and lower sides of triangle 6, and tangent to circle 15 at the lower righthand side.

19. Construct the inscribed square of circle 15, with one angular point on line 3.

20. Copy circle 18 four times, to the angular points of square 19.

21. Circles 1, 10, 15, 16, 17, and 20, and squares 7, 8, and 9, are used for the final reconstruction.

22. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

23. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

24. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2021 Barton Stacey Belt formation.

25. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
