Reconstruction of the
2018 Longwood Warren formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed nonagon (regular 9-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing down. Draw the nine rays of circle 1 to the angular points. Number the angular points, as well as the rays clockwise 1 - 9, starting at the top right.

3. Draw nine diagonals of nonagon 2, between the following pairs of angular points: 1-4, 2-5, 3-6, 4-7, 5-8, 6-9, 7-1, 8-2, 9-3.

4. Construct the circumscribed nonagon of circle 1, pointing up.

5. Draw the connecting line between the top left and top right angular points of nonagon 4.

6. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of line 5 and the vertical centerline, tangent to diagonals 3 1-4 and 6-9.

7. Copy circle 6 to the center of circle 1.

8. Construct the "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the upper intersection of circle 7 and the lower intersection of circle 1, with the vertical centerline.

9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 8, tangent to the lowest sides of nonagon 2.

10. Construct a circle centered at the (lefthand) intersection of circle 8 and the lowest lefthand side of nonagon 2, passing through the righthand intersection of circle 9 and diagonal 3 3-6.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 10 at the near side.

12. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of diagonals 3 7-1 and 9-3, tangent to rays 2 nrs. 1 and 9.

13. Copy circle 12 to the center of circle 1.

14. Construct a circle concentric to circle 8, passing through the intersection of diagonal 3 1-4 and the horizontal centerline.

15. Copy circle 8 eight times, to the corresponding positions with respect to the other rays 2.

16. Copy circle 9 eight times, to the corresponding positions with respect to the other rays 2.

17. Copy circle 14 eight times, to the corresponding positions with respect to the other rays 2.

18. Copy circle 10 eight times, to the corresponding positions with respect to the other sides of nonagon 2.

19. Remove all parts from circles 8 and 15, such that the shown pattern remains.

20. Remove all parts from circles 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, and 17, such that the shown patterns remain.

21. Remove all parts from circles 7, 9, 10, 16, and 18, such that the shown patterns remain.

22. Circles 11, and 13, and patterns 19, 20, and 21, together, make up the final reconstruction.

23. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

24. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2018 Longwood Warren formation.

25. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
