Reconstruction of the
2017 Waden Hill formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Construct a circle centered at the top of hexagon 2, tangent to circle 1 at the lower side.

4. Copy circle 3 five times, to the other angular points of hexagon 2.

5. Construct a circle passing through the inner mutual intersections of circles 3 and 4.

6. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to circle 5 at the lower side.

7. Copy circle 6 five times, to the centers of circles 4.

8. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 5 at the righthand side.

9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 8 at the lefthand side.

10. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to circle 9 at the lower side.

11. Copy circle 10 five times, to the centers of circles 4.

12. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the center of circle 8 and its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

13. Copy circle 12 four times, to the center of circle 1 and to the lower and the upper lefthand and righthand angular points of hexagon 2.

14. Construct three pairs of parallel lines, each tangent to the outer circles 13, and all to the central one, all at both sides, as shown.

15. Circles 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, and 11, hexagon 2, and lines 14, are used for the final reconstruction.

16. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

17. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

18. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2017 Waden Hill formation.

19. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
