Reconstruction of the
2016 Willoughby Hedge formation |
1. |
| Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. |
| Construct four inscribed pentagons (regular 5-sided polygons) of circle 1, one pointing up, one pointing down, one pointing to the left, and one pointing to the right.
3. |
| Draw the twenty rays of pentagons 2, from the center of circle 1 to the angular points. Number these rays 1 - 20 clockwise, starting at the top. These numbers will denote the angular points as well.
4. |
| Draw two lines, from angular point nr. 11, to angular points nrs. 3 and 19, respectively.
5. |
| Draw two lines, from angular point nr. 1, to the intersections of rays nrs. 7 and 15 with lines 4.
6. |
| Draw two lines, from angular point nr. 1, to the intersections of rays nrs. 4 and 18 with lines 4.
7. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersections of rays nrs. 3 and 19 with lines 5.
8. |
| Draw the connecting line between the lower end-points of lines 5.
9. |
| Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersections of rays nrs. 9 and 13 with line 8.
10. |
| Construct the inscribed decagon (regular ten-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.
11. |
| Copy lines 5 and 6 nine times, by repeating steps 5 and 6 (and the necessary previous steps) with respect to the other angular points of decagon 10.
12. |
| Construct the circumscribed decagon of circle 1, pointing to the right.
13. |
| Construct the circumscribed circle of decagon 12.
14. |
| Circles 1, 7, 9, and 13, and lines 5, 6, and 11, are used for the final reconstruction.
15. |
| Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
16. |
| Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

17. |
| ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2016 Willoughby Hedge formation.
