Reconstruction of the
2016 Blackwood formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Copy circle 1 six times, to the angular points of hexagon 2.

4. Copy hexagon 2 six times, to the centers of circles 3.

5. Copy circle 1 twelve times, to the outer angular points of hexagons 4.

6. Copy hexagon 2 two times, to the centers on the horizontal centerline of the leftmost and rightmost circles 5.

7. Copy circle 1 four times, to the leftmost and rightmost angular points of hexagons 6.

8. Circles 1, 3, 5, and 7, are used for the final reconstruction.

9. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

10. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

11. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2016 Blackwood formation.

12. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
