Reconstruction of the
2016 Mammendorf (Germany) formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 two times, to its righthand intersection with the horizontal, and its upper intersection with the vertical centerline.

3. Copy circle 1 to the upper intersection of upper circle 2 and the vertical centerline.

4. Draw the connecting line between the intersections of circles 2.

5. Construct the circumscribed square of circle 1, with the mid-point of a side on line 4.

6. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, passing through the top of square 5.

7. Construct a circle centered at the top of square 5, passing through the righthand intersection of circle 6 and square 5.

8. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 3 and the vertical centerline, passing through the center of circle 7.

9. Copy circle 8 to its upper intersection with the vertical centerline.

10. Copy circle 8 to the upper intersection of circle 9 and the vertical centerline.

11. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 10, pointing down.

12. Copy circle 8 to the top of hexagon 11.

13. Copy circle 8 two times, to the upper lefthand and righthand angular points of hexagon 11.

14. Copy circle 8 two times, to the lower lefthand and righthand angular points of hexagon 11.

15. Construct a circle concentric to circle 10, passing through the center of circle 8.

16. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 15, pointing down.

17. Copy circle 1 to the top of hexagon 16.

18. Copy circle 1 two times, to the upper lefthand and righthand angular points of hexagon 16.

19. Construct a circle concentric to circle 10, passing through the center of circle 3.

20. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 19, pointing down.

21. Copy circle 7 to the top of hexagon 20.

22. Copy circle 7 two times, to the upper lefthand and righthand angular points of hexagon 20.

23. Copy circle 7 two times, to the lower lefthand and righthand angular points of hexagon 16.

24. Construct a circle concentric to circle 10, passing through the center of circle 7.

25. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 24, pointing down.

26. Copy circle 6 two times, to the upper lefthand and righthand angular points of hexagon 25.

27. Construct a circle concentric to circle 10, tangent to the righthand circle 23 at the lower righthand side.

28. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 27, pointing down.

29. Copy circle 6 two times, to the lower lefthand and righthand angular points of hexagon 28.

30. Copy circles 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 26, and 29, as a whole, three times, while rotating 90°, 180°, and 270°, around the center of circle 1.

31. Circles 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 26, 29, and 30, are used for the final reconstruction.

32. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.

33. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

34. ...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2016 Mammendorf (Germany) formation.

35. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
