Spelling out the interpretation of a new crop picture at Hod Hill on June 1, 2014 as “R-T-T-Y” for “radio teletype” 

The 2014 crop circle season began emphatically at Hod Hill on June 1, where we saw a standard icon for “radio broadcast signals” drawn in the field, just below four large “letters” in the landscape which resemble “R”, “T”, “T” and “Y”:  

Together these four letters spell “RTTY” for “radio teletype communications” (see Radioteletype). Far to the west, there are many radio transmitters at Rampisham Down, now being dismantled. In the new crop picture at Hod Hill, a thin curved line goes back and forth along a circular path three times, then ends with a small dot. Might this imply that some new radio transmission is about to begin as “1-2-3”?  

One previous suggestion of “radio communications” in crops was at Whitefield Hill during August of 2010 (laid down next to a radio transmitter). There we saw the image of a “radio speaker” to suggest “music being played” (see www.lucypringle.co.uk).  

Similar back-and-forth symbols have been drawn in crops before, where they portrayed certain aspects of electricity and magnetism:  

A double-bordered “diamond” from the new crop picture matches a similar landscape feature on the top of Hod Hill nearby. It can only be seen from the air:  

Also nearby in the landscape, just above those four letters “RTTY”, we can see a large “serpent” shape (not shown, please use Google Earth).

Finally, might the slight asymmetry of this new crop picture suggest some clever geometric code, related to “squaring of the circle”? Possibly, but that is a problem which we will let experts such as Bert Janssen (see www.cropcirclesandmore.com) or Arvy'das Kizevicius examine:

A similar asymmetry was seen for the “cube” drawn in crops at Monument Hill on August 6, 2013 (see monument Hill 2013).  

Quite an interesting start to the summer of 2014! What next?
