Field Report on Besford, Worchestershire.
The first thing we noted when arriving at the location was the
CCs proximity to an impressive looking telescope that turned out
to part of Manchester University’s SKA project…”Giving us new
and unparalleled insights into the universe.”..(see link.)
Defford is home to one of the radio telescopes that make up the
Jodrell Bank MERLIN (Multi-Element Radio Linked Interferometer
Network) radio telescope array linking six observing stations
that together form a powerful telescope with an effective
aperture of over 217 kilometres!
This crop circle is just a short
distance from this telescope and also literally right next to
the train line between Cheltenham and Gloucester and Worcester.
In consequence this CC would be easily seen by the passengers.
It would appear the Circlemakers are
trying to tell us something here…or is this all just
coincidence? To me this feels very
significant.
You can see the proximity of the telescope to the CC in the
photo...radio telescope top right.
There was another CC in the field opposite last season.

We eventually managed to make contact with the
farmer who is not allowing entry to his field and has put a
notice up to this effect.
